Curriculum is taught through thematic units that change monthly:
In September we focused on connecting "Summer Fun" with our new school routines
In October we explored our "5 Senses"
(an experience that helped us navigate the world around us through sight, hearing,
touch, taste and smell)
In November we studied the "Solar System"
(
space related themes, concepts, and scientific inquiry)
In December we studied "Animals on the Farm"
(farming and agriculture taught creatively to help connect students to the world around them)
In January we studied "Animals in Winter"
(hibernate, migrate, adapt)
In February we studied "Animals Under the Sea"
(ocean related activities, games, and vocab words)
In March we studied "Safari"
(journey through Africa, animals, equipment & tools, places)
In April we studied "Spring in the Garden"
(focus on nature, gardening and conservation)
In May we studied "Life Cycles"
(butterflies, lady bugs, plants, and chicks)
In June we will study "Let's get Active"
(different types of exercise and movement, focusing on exercising for fun)
